Zanzibar: Known as “The Spice Island”, Zanzibar is an archipelago located off the coast of Tanzania, East Africa, and is the birthplace of Cinnamon & Clove I first spent time in Zanzibar in 2007, and it was an absolutely magical experience. From the winding streets of Stonetown, to the old slave markets, Freddie Mercury memorabilia wherever you turn, amazing street-food from the Forodhani Gardens night market, street vendors wanting to sell you everything from scarves to CDs, and mojitos made with coriander. Zanzibar captured my heart instantly. A subsequent 3 trips to Zanzibar over the next 3 years cemented it as my place of zen, of retreat and rejuvenation. When I moved to Zambia in 2010, Zanzibar became one of my regular go-to destinations to relax and unwind. It is therefore fitting that the first seeds of Cinnamon & Clove were sown on one of my trips to Zanzibar. This soap is the namesake of Cinnamon & Clove
