Burundi borders Rwanda to the north, Congo to the west and Tanzania to the south and east. Kirasa is located at the northern end of Lake Tanganyika and here coffee is grown at an altitude from 1100-1500m. The average temperature is 19 ° c and annual rainfall is 1320mm. Compared to the neighbors Congo and Tanzania, Burundi is a small country geographically. The population is 11 million and coffee production is small compared to the major producers Kenya and Ethiopia. Most Arabica is grown and coffee from Burundi may have a lot in common with other African coffee, e.g. light citrus, blueberries and other fruits and berries.
