This card is made by women working with a Fair Trade group in the Philippines who specialise in creating beautiful hand pressed flower greeting cards using handmade paper from recycled waste materials. The paper is made using traditional methods from agricultural waste such as abaca fibre, salago bark, pineapple leaves, banana stalks and cogon grass. The design has been skilfully created using pressed flowers and dried leaves that are native to the region. As well as creating work and opportunities for local women, the group provide much needed educational support for the local community including providing scholarships to school students. This card measures 14 × 14 × 0.2 cm and weighs 70 g. The purchase of this card helps the artisans earn a fair and dignified wage and builds a brighter future for their families.
