Description
Kitchari is a delicious stew of basmati rice and husked split mung beans that has been a staple in South East Asian cuisine for years. It is easy to cook, easy to digest, and is an excellent option when someone is sick or recovering from an illness. Our kitchari is created using the freshest ingredients for superior taste. Kitchari is cooked like oatmeal with salt and Indian spices added for additional flavor. Fresh vegetables like potatoes, cauliflower, carrots, and peas can also be added to khichadi during cooking. It is often served with ghee (clarified butter), pickles, and other condiments and is considered a complete meal, especially for vegetarians. We make an Organic Kitchari Spice Mix to go with this. GREEN KITCHARI: Aged Organic White Basmati Rice, Organic Green Mung Dal (split and unhusked mung). YELLOW KITCHARI: Aged Organic White Basmati Rice, Organic Yellow Mung Dal (split and husked mung).
