Description
This angled tokkuri vessel is by ceramist Kenji Tayama. In this work, Tayama, uses traditional firing techniques to create pattern by kiln ash and effects from within the clay. This creates an elemental sense from the materials, the firing, and in the way Tayama has set about shaping the form. His work is an expression of classic elements in Japanese ceramics. Size, Diameter: 9cm, Width: 9cm, Height: 14cm Weight: 120g About Kenji Tayama One of the key aspects of classical Japanese pottery is the communion it creates with nature. A potter in Kasama since 1992, Kenji Tayama works within this tradition. Moulding and forming his pieces by hand, he fires them over a period of five days in a wood burning anagama style kiln.
