Following extensive whaling, populations had plummeted to approximately 5,000 individuals worldwide in the 1960’s. The current population has recovered since then to approximately 135,000. Humpbacks feed predominately on krill and small schooling using arrangements of bubbles underwater to herd their prey into a group they can then gulp on mass. Each piece in our rare species range is delicately hand painted on a timber base and carries its own unique characteristics.
