This organic pot shaped basket is hand woven by the Tonga people of Zambia and Zimbabwe. Many Tonga women utilise traditional weaving techniques to create these intricately woven vase shaped baskets. The entire basket is made of locally harvested, natural, organic materials such as wild grasses, small vines, and palm leaves dyed with tree bark. All of these baskets are completely hand woven, unique and individual making them stunning one off art pieces. Please note ~ the measurement is taken from the top edge of the basket, around the basket, to the middle of the base of the basket. Some will be shorter and wider. Others taller and thiner. This is the beauty of each basket being hand created, each one is different in shape, design and appearance. Designs will be selected at random ~ images are only a representation of the product.
