About Knotty But Sweet

Knotty But Sweet started a little after the pandemic, when working from home became the new normal. I was spending hours in virtual meetings, always throwing my hair up in a bun- until I started getting daily headaches from tight, uncomfortable hair ties. Around that time, I bought a sewing and embroidery machine to start a new hobby. The embroidery part intimidated me, so I started small by making myself a scrunchie. That one scrunchie changed everything! My headaches disappeared, and I quickly became obsessed with creating the perfect scrunchie. After sharing them with friends (who instantly loved them too), Knotty But Sweet was born. Over the past few years, I’ve attended countless in-person markets, spreading my love for comfy, cute scrunchies and eventually conquering my fear of embroidery to expand into custom embroidered scrunchies and apparel. Running Knotty But Sweet while juggling my full-time job hasn’t been easy, but every kind word from a customer, every familiar face at a market, and every new connection reminds me why I started. Today, I’m so proud to run KBS alongside my wonderful husband, Joe, who helps with sewing our scrunchies, running the embroidery machines, setting up at markets when I accidentally overbook (oops) and more!
