About Tchai-Ovna

Tchai-Ovna is a tea blender and purveyor of high quality loose leaf tea, based in Glasgow, Scotland. The owner, Martin, having Czech roots himself, opened a teahouse inspired by the "cajovnas" of Prague in 2000. Over 20 years of serving teas and healthy food and putting on all manner of events in their offbeat, bohemian premises in a former stables, Tchai-Ovna became a local institution and a go-to point on Glasgow's cultural map. Even though it no longer has a cafè space, the spirit of Tchai-Ovna lives on in our wholesale and online presence. We continue to seek out excellence and high ethical standards in our teas and recipe ingredients, using the knowledge and expertees earned over many years to come up with innovative new recipes and hone old favourites, as well as sourcing some of the world's finest loose leaf teas.
