About Sustainable Rope Ltd

Sustainable Rope (SR) was born out of the need to find new markets for wool. It produces rope, fabric and braid using only UK wool, with a supply chain here in the UK, no in shoring no off shoring. With its own research department SR has been able to help a wide variety of industries adopt UK wool as an alternative to plastics. As our understanding of micro-plastic pollution grows it is SR’s mission to provide a natural fibre alternative. From farm to functionality, our 100% wool products are biodegradable, renewable and sustainable with natural antibacterial properties, and can remove toxins from the air. Kate is the founder of Sustainable Rope Ltd and a winner of the Innovate UK 2022-2023 Women in Innovation Award and the Wool Innovation Award 2022. She travels and works with farmers across the four nations of the UK, joining up wool, academia and policy. SR are proud the wool can move from farm to consumer whilst being made solely in the UK and has no end of life challenges. Read their story
