OUR HERITAGE began in 1928 Lancashire, England with my great-grandfather Walter Smith; a shoemaker who crafted exceptional footwear. To honour his legacy I founded Goodwin Smith in 2014 to champion premium, handcrafted footwear with a focus on timeless design. OUR SHOES are designed in England & meticulously handcrafted in Portugal. After many years on our quest for the right partner, we finally struck lucky in Porto, Portugal. Nestled within the beautiful hillside we found a family-run atelier. We were struck by the artisans pride in their craft and instead of being met with the usual resistance to our detailed specifications they were eager to learn more. It was clear this was our partner. OUR PASSION is to create shoes that transcend fleeting trends and embody a quiet luxury that speaks volumes without shouting. Our designs are stripped back, focusing on clean lines and exquisite materials.
