About Shapes In The Sand

Australia’s natural world is unlike anywhere else and SHAPES IN THE SAND is a reflection of that. Founded by Alexandra Dash in 2012, our Australian made swimwear and Earthwear brand brings together vibrant, thoughtful design with a deep commitment to sustainability and conservation. Inspired by the wild beauty of Australian landscapes and wildlife, we began our journey using regenerated nylon and responsible local manufacturing. As our understanding of sustainability evolved, we shifted our focus to plant based fibres, introducing hemp apparel and soon, hemp swimwear. Every piece is created with intention. Our fabrics are low impact, our production is local, and our collections are released in limited quantities to reduce waste. We work closely with makers in Sydney and support conservation through partnerships with organisations including WIRES, BirdLife Australia, Aussie Ark and OceanWatch.
