About Brooklyn Smithy

BKS [Brooklyn Smithy] is the first love child of Jewelry Designer JC Ortiz, former Skateboarder, Alaskan Fisherman, turned songwriter and Jewelry Designer of Motorcycle rings and Rough Luxe Jewels [seen in his Sanctuary City Rings collection]. BKS Is founded on the spirit of 'Being there, Present in the moment of a coveted freedom', inspired much by his upbringing in the South West, fishing with his father, riding motorcycles, and playing shows on the road. JC Ortiz is a 13th Generation New Mexican, that lives and builds his collections in Taos New Mexico. Each Brooklyn Smithy piece has been cast from a hand carved by JC Ortiz wax ring sculpture, cast in New York City by our established Casters and then finished in Taos New Mexico. He began his journey with wax carving rings in his Queens Apartment bedroom. That was 2010. Fast forward to 2023, Brooklyn Smithy has transformed into a collection of articles of quintessential signatures and an entry point into the bespoke collection offered. Read their story
