About Arashiyama

In the foothills of Southern Japan there lies a bamboo grove, nestled away on the banks of the Kawogawa River. Upon discovering this forest our founder (Hiren Patel) was immediately taken aback by its inherent natural beauty. This magical forest is known as the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, which subsequently became the inspiration behind our brand. The forest was a stark reminder to Hiren of the innate wonders that this planet we inhabit has to offer. However he was also enlightened to and fascinated by the many ranging and widespread uses of the bamboo plant. Due to its fast growing nature, strength and antibacterial properties, bamboo has an almost unlimited set of uses for everyday products. At Arashiyama we offer a selection of carefully designed and crafted bamboo items.
