Wermlands Choklad produces "tree to bar" chocolate, which means that they have full control over the entire production process; from the cocoa plantation to the finished chocolate bars. The cocoa comes from cocoa plantations in Ecuador which they oversee and manage themselves with their partner and cocoa specialist Luis León. Luis is also a co-owner of the company and works to educate co-operatives and farmers in the Amazon on how to take care of the cocoa trees and the environment. Here, cocoa is grown together with other fruits and spices to achieve diversity and a natural cycle.
