Calluna vulgaris (or September) blooms in certain areas of the southwest between August and September. The honey from this flower is very special because of its texture. In addition to having an intense and persistent aroma, it is characterized by its gelatinous sensation in the mouth, due to its high viscosity. This honey has a light amber color with reddish tones and an extraordinarily shiny surface. It has an intense and persistent floral aroma and a sweet taste with clear bitter and salty notes that produce a gel-like sensation in the mouth, due to its high viscosity. Its production area is located on the mountain floor of the southwestern area of Asturias: Allande, Tineo, Cangas del Narcea and Ibias.
