Since graduating from the well-known Design Academy Eindhoven in 1989, I have been working as a textile designer in the Netherlands. My diverse experiences have enriched my expertise in the field. My profound love for textiles inspired me to explore and enrich the diversity of materials, colors, and patterns in my creations. In 2013, I founded my label, Heartmade Prints by Hellen van Berkel, which mainly focuses on scarves known for their authentic and beautifully layered features. Today, Heartmade Prints is proudly available in over 50 select stores and museums across Europe, Asia, Australia, and the USA. As a passionate advocate of the slow fashion movement, I am committed to producing high-quality, timeless scarves that stand the test of time. Hand embroidery, a unique craft originating from India, plays a significant role in my creations, where skills and expertise are passed down through generations. Sustainability is a core value for me. I exclusively work with natural substances, ensuring my scarves are not only pleasant for your skin but also gentle on nature. To maintain ethical standards, I collaborate with certified factories that ensure fair labor conditions.
