About Caravan Roastery

We began roasting coffee in the basement of our first restaurant on Exmouth Market in 2010, right as London’s specialty coffee scene was emerging. Caravan was established by our three Kiwi founders who want to bring a taste of home to the UK, creating a space with good food, good coffee, and a relaxed, inviting vibe. 

While London had plenty of good produce, finding ethically sourced, specialty-grade coffee was a challenge. So, we took matters into our own hands and started roasting. What started as a small venture beneath the restaurant has now flourished. 

Today, we roast all our coffee at our North London Roastery, serving our nine restaurants, two cafes, and an expanding network of wholesale partners who share our dedication to quality and sustainability. 

We only select coffees that score 82 and above on the SCA scale and maintain direct relationships with our producer partners, some lasting over a decade. We ensure that at least 50% of our coffee comes from women-led farms and 40% from farms that practice agroforestry. 

Much has evolved since those early days, but our core values remain unchanged. We are still fueled by curiosity, care, and a commitment to roasting coffee that unites people.Read their story
