About Waid Eyewear

Inspired by an era full of "Good Vibrations" our design cues come from the feel-good nostalgia we experience through music, cars and photographs from the bygone era of the 60's, 70's and 80's. To pay homage we name each of our frame styles after iconic tracks from that era. Imagine, John Lennon, "Good Vibrations" by the Beach Boys "Paradise City" by Guns and Roses. All great names inspired by the greatest hits. There is something so ephemeral yet forever lasting about that time. We often catch ourselves thinking how cool it would be to vacation in the 70's, or board a flight to the 60's. A time when cool was so effortless, nonapologetic, yet at the same time so classy and tasteful. Our favorite photographer and a big influence for Waid is Slim Aarons, who brilliantly captured the old-school elegance of high society through his life's work. "A Wonderful Time" "Poolside" and "A Place in the Sun" to name a few, are all such iconic photography books that influence and inspire us to design products that will be your favourite poolside essentials.
