About Taishō

Taishō designs posters inspired by Scandinavia and Japan. Taishō (pronounced [tai-sjo]) is a Japanese word for "contrast". Our entire universe started around the fascination of both the similarities and contrasts between the Japanese and Scandinavian cultures. Taisho is driven by Danish and Japanese couple, Mads Taiki and Ida Holm. We always strive to ensure the best material and color quality for our customers. All prints are designed by Ida and printed by our own team. In all of our designs, we strive to maintain the good craftsmanship in the form of paintings, hand-drawn illustrations, or linocut prints. In a time where posters are dominated by simple, digital designs, we take pride in the more time-intensive and analog work. We are partners with the "1% for the Planet" organization, which means that we donate 1% of our entire revenue to nature, environmental, and climate advocacy initiatives and organizations.
