About Scott Reinhard Maps

Scott Reinhard Maps is a Brooklyn-based effort to create stunningly visualized maps at the highest quality. Scott developed a process for combining historic paper maps with contemporary elevation data to create scenes that are realistic-looking and geographically accurate. Our maps are produced in the US using archival Giclée pigment-based techniques on matte paper. We've chosen this method for its archival quality, rich and consistent colors, and proven stability over time. The techniques developed by Scott have been highly influential to the fields of cartography and data visualization. Currently working as a Graphics Editor at the New York Times, Scott was part of the team that won a Pulitzer Prize in Public Service in 2021 for the Covid-19 tracker. Read their story
