I am now back and Kailey's doing amazing, so now I can get back to making and sharing our products with everyone Kailey’s Kandles & Company is a family-owned candle business founded in 2018 by Kriss Schmitt in Marshfield, Wisconsin. The inspiration behind the company stems from Kriss’s daughter, Kailey, who was born on October 25, 2014, with Goldenhar Syndrome, Tetralogy of Fallot, Hydrocephalus, and other medical conditions. Facing numerous surgeries and complex medical needs, Kailey’s resilience became a driving force for Kriss. Unable to return to traditional employment due to Kailey’s care requirements, Kriss sought a flexible means to support her family. In 2017, she acquired Melting Hearts Candle Company, which laid the foundation for Kailey’s Kandles & Company. Candle-making not only provided financial support but also served as a therapeutic outlet for Kriss amidst the challenges of caregiving. The company specializes in handcrafted soy-based candles and wax melts, using 100% U.S.-sourced ingredients to ensure high-quality, safe products. Beyond their own creations, they collaborate with other Wisconsin artisans, offering a curated selection of local handmade goods. Read their story
