About Space Witch Nails
Space Witch Nails is the passion project of Kelly Swainson of Denver, CO. As a working mom, Kelly was tired of squeezing in salon visits and disappointed in the lack of design variety available with gels and acrylics, as well as the limited designs offered by mainstream press-on brands. She decided to make her own press-on nails and teach herself various nail art techniques, including stamping and marbling. Other people noticed Kelly's nails and asked where she got them done--and then when they learned she did them herself, they asked to order some of their own! Kelly takes inspiration from eclectic places you wouldn't immediately associate with manicures, from 80s arcade carpet to photos of nebulas, from obscure fantasy novels to safety-pin-pierced punk rock vibes, and from Mediterranean tiles to the imaginary guts of a cyborg. Kelly's vision is for everyone who wants unique, self-expressive manicures to be able to find the design that speaks to them and have it tailored especially to them, hand-made for them! She is passionate about building a legitimately inclusive brand, for all genders, races, ages, and styles.

Some bending is to be expected with press-ons, longer ones especially. I apply at least 2 layers of top coat to each nail after the designs, which is the best way to strengthen press-on nails. The material is thinner at the base of the nail and gets thicker as the nail extends outward, but short of sculpting them from acrylic, I cannot make them any stronger than with the thick top coat.
