Considered to be one of the most popular and successful government conservation programs in US history. You've probably appreciated the CCC even if you didn't realize who had created the work as 2,900 camps were located throughout the 49 states and US territories. Contributions included many National Parks, Monuments, Forests, State Parks, and countless more. Often referred to as FDR's Tree Army, the CCC planted 3 billion trees to help restore decimated forests. "Forests are the lungs of our land, purifying the air and giving fresh strength to our people." Franklin D. Roosevelt CCC Camp Exchange designs are thoughtfully developed using historical references. Founder Rick Stagner's great-grandfather was an influential Missouri CCC Camp Education Director from 1937-1942. His primary role was developing corpsmen's individual interests and skill sets to ensure a successful career pathway upon discharge. As a youth, Rick was profoundly influenced by the recognizable rustic parkitecture of nearby Roaring River and Bennett Springs State Parks in Missouri. 2023 marks the 90th Anniversary of the CCC.
