About Deta

Born in 1988, Deta is an Italian artist and illustrator. Granddaughter of art and with a degree in Architecture, Deta began working in Abruzzo in 2013 as a Graphic Designer, Artistic Director and Visual Artist. But only in summer 2018 she re-started painting on cardboard, sheets and recycled material with watercolor, pastels and markers, ink and Indian ink. Deta's dreamlike imagery is populated by creatures with very long necks, mostly female in appearance, all with closed eyes. In their light blue and sea blue hair, stylized dolls with fishes and boats tell the emotional and unconscious flows close to the Y generation and they investigate contemporary contradictions such as, for example, the concept of belonging and flexibility, the rebirth of the feminine principle, the search for personal fulfillment and post-digitization love. Due to the strong emotional component linked to her works she is waiting to find the right distance between real and digital. So Deta has decided not to exhibit her works in public exhibitions.
