Welcome, friend! I'm Amanda, an author and illustrator and the owner and artist behind Nettles & Lace Paper Co. My art and imagination have been influenced by the lakes and forests of northern Minnesota where I grew up and the rolling hills of Wisconsin where my husband and I now reside. Through my greeting cards and other products, I invite you to share and spread a little whimsical, homey, nature-filled joy. My design process begins with a simple idea and a quick sketch in my sketchbook before I create the full-sized, inked illustration. While some designs are colored digitally, most are painted with watercolor the old-fashioned way. Once the paintings are complete, I scan them into the computer to add text and finishing touches digitally before printing. Our products are printed in the USA and assembled by hand in-house before being shipped to you.
