Alma's journey began with a simple desire: finding the perfect HS graduation gift for my daughter, Mara. The challenge of meeting a teenager's discerning taste led me to a unique idea—a personalized gift crafted through my own design. After playful brainstorming sessions, shoes emerged as the perfect canvas for my vision, driven by the lack of imaginative designs in the market. Wearing my initial designs in public drew overwhelming positive responses. It was like understanding the attention-grabbing power of haute couture, with people regularly complimenting my shoes. This encouraged me to create Alma Laguna, a brand built around my creations. Inspired by my hometown, Laguna Beach, I designed a shoe paying homage to the iconic "Laguna Beach Greeter," Michael Minutoli, who embodied the town's spirit. Our collaboration gained local attention, leading to an article in the Laguna Beach Independent. This article sparked a wave of support from artists and musicians, catching the eye of respected publications like the LA Times.
