An Illustrated Surf Manual. A step by step guide to learn how to surf. Pairing detailed artwork with technical insight. Appeals to both beginners and experienced surfers, offering takeaways for each. The book was inspired by teaching my eight nephews how to surf at Doheny. I'm sure you can all relate, explaining the concept of the channel to someone only to watch it all go out the window once you're in the water. All that to say, the book was born out of beachside drawings in the sand and sketches on the back of napkins before paddling out. The book itself took seven years to create. I pencil sketched each of the illustrations and hired an artist to take them to the next level. In short, its been a labor of love : )
