Founder, Shelby Marie Broaddus, is local to Las Vegas, NV and received the calling to build Akouo freshly post-birthing her first son in 2019. Shelby experienced emotions of feeling lost, touched out, and over stimulation. The act of bathing with botanicals and meditating with candle light were rituals that strengthened her connection to her intuition. After the birth of her second son, experiencing postpartum depression and outside judgement, led her to expand her rituals and use the tools of Somatic Embodiment to find her voice, deepen her bond to her Sources (ancestors, spirit team, guides), self compassion, and dark feminine integration. Shelby teaches Somatic Embodiment through classes, workshops, festivals, and events. Akouo is a love language to all whom are called to strengthen their intuition + connection to Source, learn the wisdom of rituals, + receive unwavering strength in their voice, confidence, + authenticity. Akouo's 3 missions are grounded in: 1. Community - Through building deeper connections with ourselves, we create deeper connections with each other through vulnerability. 2. Spirituality - Growing your intuitive power + strengthening your connection with the land/spirit team/universe. 3. Sustainability - Consciously being mindful of our waste + how we can do our part to kindly treat our Earth.
