At Walden, we believe in the power of pause. Back in the mid 1800’s, Thoreau stepped away from the fray and headed into the woods, writing Walden and observing that Americans are just too busy. Even then, he figured that we’d all be better off if we would slow down and simplify our lives. After 25 years of busyness, our Founder took a sabbatical of his own. Spending much of his time in the backyard, he paused to ponder, reconnect with family & friends, and lend a hand to colleagues. This new mindset sparked an idea: Couldn’t everyone benefit from a pause? A little time by the fire? Walden was founded in 2015 to make it inspiring and easy for homeowners to enjoy great moments fireside.
