Behind Middle Eight Wares is Myles and Taylor. We’re just a regular couple who happens to be irregularly obsessed with music and pottery. Myles is the kind of person that you’d hardly see without a record in hand or headphones in his ears. Taylor, on the other hand, is a pottery fanatic. She can often be heard waxing poetic about the beauty of how clay and (a lot of) heat combine to make something beautiful and long-lasting. We went into business to focus on the things we care about and that extends to our business practices as well. We couldn't exist without the wonderful people who make our pottery or the generous planet that provides the clay we turn into ceramics. We verify that everyone who works with us makes a living wage and make as much of our packaging recyclable as possible. We chose porcelain and stoneware for our product forms because they are long-lasting, durable, and reusable. And finally, we give back 10% of our proceeds to local organizations supporting youth music education.
