An inclusive disabled female owned small sticker shop! Growing up my dad was adamant I’d do something creative one day, I’d dreamed of being a physiotherapist from a young age & creativity wasn’t what I had in mind when considering my future career. In 2014, my health took a drastic turn & within a matter of weeks I was bed-bound & unable to walk, my life was flipped upside down. This undoubtedly had a huge effect on my mental health until I began to draw. Art offered me an escape, a place I could go to & forget about the pain & it quickly became my coping mechanism. It gave me a path back into education & I was looking forward to studying for my master's when my health took another turn & I began struggling with my fine motor skills & drawing became almost impossible, I was relieved to find I was still able to draw digitally & that’s when Stick It Out was born. It was important to me that I used this opportunity to have a positive impact & so every order is matched with a donation of a sticker pack to a child in hospital & to mark a year of success, I was able to donate over 125 sticker packs to the children's ward at the RUH hospital in Bath & I hope to increase that number in 2022. Making my designs accessible & inclusive to all is my priority & that’s why in July 2021 I launched the first tactile sticker designs. Designed for blind & visually impaired people, the stickers have been enjoyed by many & I hope to continue increasing the range.Read their story
