About The Digital Chromist

The Digital Chromist is a curated archive of restored ephemera from the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Sourced from original Victorian and Edwardian ephemera, such as trade cards, calling cards, die cuts, and postcards, a time when color printing was both a technical mastery and art form. Originally produced through chromolithography, these images were layered and printed one color at a time by skilled chromists. I have digitally archived and restored a large collection of this old paper so it can live beautifully in the present. Read their story
