There comes a time in every parent’s life when they face the age-old dinner dilemma: Give in to cheese pizza and chicken fingers, or keep pushing the broccoli and cauliflower—even when no one’s eating it? I’m Kendra, mom of two active boys who went through phases of refusing vegetables. Luckily, as the granddaughter of a Sicilian on one side and an American Southern Belle on the other, I discovered that the secret to nourishing my kids without the struggle was hidden in my family’s recipes. When I started making my family’s classic pasta sauces and other homestyle comfort foods, mealtime battles disappeared. By blending wholesome ingredients into the dishes my kids loved, I realized I didn’t have to choose between delicious and nutritious—my grandparents’ recipes were both —and they quickly became my kids’ favorites! Before long, friends started asking for these tasty dishes, and The Hidden Food Company was born. At Hidden Foods, we create recipes that taste so good, kids don’t even realize they’re good for them. So, while it’s still important to introduce kids to a rainbow of fruits and veggies in order to explore new flavors and textures, Hidden Foods can help bridge the nutritional gap.
