Full Circle Wool began in 2013 with the start of Capella Grazing Project. Conceived and operated by Marie Hoff, Capella Grazing Project integrates heritage breed Ouessant sheep with landscapes in need of the service of grazing, such as vineyards, orchards, and private property seeking fire prevention and brush management. Capella Grazing has since folded in with Marie's next project, sourcing wool from Climate Beneficial ranches (as verified by the nonprofit Fibershed) across Northern CA. Proceeds return to those ranches to support carbon farming practices. These practices include compost application, rotational grazing management, hedgerow establishment, and cover crop. By sequestering carbon out of the atmosphere and storing it deep down in the soil, these practices benefit us all by mitigating and reversing climate change. All processing of the wool is done within the United States, as close to our home base as possible. Marie continues to run her Ouessant sheep, and rents their services to properties looking for grazing at particular times of year. They are based in Mendocino County, California. Committed to a healthy future, Full Circle Wool works to connect people with the land they inhabit in a deep, meaningful, and nourishing way.
