Founded by Ida Lubelei Tanzanian Canadian and Chris Cooke, a Jamaican-Canadian. One of the most devastating times for Ida was losing her guardian father (a sudden death in 2009), and losing her baby brother (from eating peanuts) when Ida was young. Fifteen years ago, Ida moved to Canada for higher studies and encountered new difficulties and possibilities. Multiple gynecological surgeries due to a rare condition, surviving cardiac arrest (overdosed by the hospital), the loss of her dear friend, and various social stigmas. But refused to be downtrodden and instead, we choose to uplift and honor those memories. It has been a trauma but an opportunity for development, understanding, and growth. It is for all these reasons that we decided to devote ourselves to helping underprivileged people, especially women and those battling rare gynecological conditions like Ida, find dignity and opportunity through income generation and empowerment.
