About Natasha's Just Brittle

Meet Natasha Brown-Wainwright: From Educator to Entrepreneur Natasha Brown-Wainwright's journey from nurturing young minds to delighting taste buds is a testament to her passion for community and creativity. As the former owner of Progress Place Learning Center (PPLC), Natasha dedicated over two decades to early childhood education, fostering an environment where children could grow, learn and play. In 2009, seeking to teach her daycare students about business fundamentals, Natasha initiated a summer project called PPLC Sweet Treats. This venture allowed children to engage in hands-on experiences, creating and selling confections like cakes, cookies, brownies, and smoothies. Among these treats, a unique brittle recipe—crafted with brown and white sugar, sea salt, butter, and agave—stood out, sparking the inception of Natasha's Just Brittle. By 2016, Natasha transitioned fully into the culinary world, closing her daycare to focus on her burgeoning business. Her dedication led to the establishment of B'More Made with Pride Commercial Kitchen & Café in 2017, Baltimore's first Black-owned culinary hub. This space not only produces her signature brittle treats, but also serves as an incubator for local food artisans, providing resources and mentorship to aspiring entrepreneurs.
