About Nadie van Wijk - Ontwerp & Illustratie

I am Nadie van Wijk, an illustrator from Enschede. My work begins with observing and drawing. I look at nature and what often goes unnoticed: skulls, insects, leaves, birds, and other animals. Shapes that are transient but have meaning if you look closely. For me, drawing is a way of collecting and recording, a kind of small nature study on paper. The illustrations that emerge from this I translate into paper goods: cards, posters, calendars, and bookmarks. Everything is printed in editions that are practical yet remain personal. The style is sleek, graphic, and detailed, with a lot of contrast, sometimes digitally inspired by linocut. The collection is intended to bring moments of attention into daily life. A card to send, a print to hang, a calendar you encounter daily, simple products that convey something of that observation. My products are suitable for stores that have an eye for detail and quirky illustrations. They are small, accessible carriers of my work, that last a long time and clearly show the recognizable hand of the maker.Read their story
