Kāṭu = "forest" in Sri Lanka, where we source some of our key materials (latex and coconut fibre) from organic-certified farms! We (Hannah and Tom) are a couple that went through the pain of having to deal with the US crib mattress-buying process and immediately knew something had to change. We could choose affordable or healthy, but never both at once! Knowing other parents in America must have been facing the same dilemma, we set off on a mission to make healthy crib mattresses accessible to all parents, not just the richest ones. By focusing just on what parents actually care about (i.e. healthy, well-built, verifiably-tested product, for an affordable price) and after years of development, we produced the KATU Organic Crib Mattress.
