About Paradox Artisan Candles

it all began with a love for home design and… black ceilings! I consistently used seasonal touches in my home to reinvigorate our design esthetic and capture the tranquility of each season. this included candles of every kind… the colorful, wonderful smells and funky jars. a small pleasure at home… then the constant question: why are my ceilings always becoming so black? we painted our "newly" painted ceilings in our old house so many times. yes, we do burn candles daily so i finally decided to see what exactly it was that was creating all of the soot from burning simple candles? PETROLEUM. i’ve been burning by-products of petroleum in my home. paraffin wax, derived directly from petroleum. i've come to learn all about paraffin wax what we are truly burning. i became obsessed with finding alternative ways to create non-toxic candles once my family started growing. i began making my own candles in our kitchen, while my children were babies and working full time. At first it was a hobby, then everyone wanted them! During the 2020 pandemic, I finally left my job in corporate consulting and began working on PARADOX Artisan Candles. Read their story
