Founded in 2007, on Vancouver Island, Fernwood Coffee is the result of many journeys off the beaten path - journeys that bring you coffee from the far corners of the world, high elevations, and independent farms. Our coffee is a true testament to the ways of Pacific Northwest adventure seekers. Fernwood Coffee is carefully roasted by obsessive coffee professionals. All of these coffees are either Fair Trade certified and Organic certified or sourced directly from the farmers and grown using organic practices. We personally visit some of the smaller farms that we source from directly and see first hand how the coffee is grown and processed and how the workers are treated and paid. And we roast on a state-of-the-art coffee roaster that uses significantly less natural gas than many others. We have cut our natural gas bill by nearly 84% since switching to a high efficiency roaster.Read their story
