About Atelier Candela

Atelier Candela is a father-son luxury candle house built around a single idea: that a fragrance can hold a place, a memory, or a person, and give it back to you every time you light the wick. I built this brand for two reasons. The first is my mother, Patricia. I lost her, and I wanted to keep the places she loved close — so I asked my father, Bernhard Winkler, a master perfumer with sixty years of experience and a former creative master perfumer at Firmenich Geneva, to compose them into scent. The seven candles in our Grand Tour Collection are each tied to a place she loved: the Cotswolds, Marrakesh, Lake Como, Antibes, Istanbul, Capri, and Seville. Every one is his work. The second reason is that I wanted a candle that actually delivers what a luxury candle promises. Too many candles at $80, $100, even $120 look beautiful on a console and then do nothing — the scent stays trapped in the vessel and never fills the room. Ours are built with a high fragrance load in a clean soy blend, no phthalates or sulfates, priced at $58 retail. Same master-perfumer pedigree. A fraction of the cost. And a scent that fills your whole house, not just the corner it's sitting in. Every candle is a modern heirloom — because every candle is a place my mother loved, composed by the man who loved her.
