Smith & Co. Goods is a candle and home fragrance brand inspired by place, memory, and everyday ritual. Our soy wax candles are designed to bring warmth and calm into the home through thoughtful scent and hand-painted artwork. Each product reflects a life lived between two landscapes: the founder’s Canadian roots and her home in the Essex countryside. Founded during the pandemic, Smith & Co. Goods began as a creative outlet while the founder worked as a primary school music teacher navigating a suddenly quieter, online world. Fragrance became a grounding way to reconnect with making. Candles and perfume had always been her most-loved gifts, so creating a brand around scent felt natural. Our collections draw from Canadiana—forests, lakes, wildlife—and the slower rhythms of rural England. Every candle features hand-painted label artwork created in-house, giving each piece an artisanal, personal feel. All candles are made with soy wax and produced in small batches for a clean burn and consistent quality. Since welcoming her first child in 2021, the brand has grown alongside motherhood and is now focused on thoughtful expansion and meaningful partnerships with independent retailers.Read their story
