La Conserverie Locale is a project of the French association Partage Ton Frigo, which has been carrying out actions to combat food waste since 2013. It was in 2019 that the cannery was born in Metz. It is a place that transforms surplus local producers into canned goods: jam, spread, pickles, chutney... She is experimenting with an easily reproducible and autonomous model throughout France, so that local canneries become a sustainable solution to fight against food waste. In addition, 10% of its production is sent free of charge to the Moselle Food Bank (from its surplus supermarkets).
