Jae, the maker behind the bench is a nonbinary transmasc artist, and one of their goals is to make jewelry that everyone can enjoy wearing regardless of their identity. All jewelry is handmade with 100% recycled precious metals. J. Mancarella Jewelry prioritizes using ethically sourced gemstones and diamonds. The design process often begins with the gemstone, and then the piece is built around it to best showcase the stone's natural beauty. Their jewelry also features contrasting materials, textures and finishes. 14k yellow gold, 18k yellow gold, silver, recycled diamonds and colorful gemstones are the materials of choice. Emphasizing ethical and sustainable practices in the studio is something they strive to do as much as possible.
