As a mother/business owner running a business presents challenges, if you care. Sometimes it's emotional other times it mental but most often its financial.....Honestly, in 2009, still new in business I often found myself down to my last dollars. I was broke to the point it was either put gas in my car or buy sugar scrub for the salon and guess what the gas tank always won! But I never gave up! And so it began that some sugar and oil would be mixed. Over the years I've made and used my scrub during the mani/pedi services. Fast forward, when the pandemic happened, along with my personal losses, my natural nail care salon Covered Nail Bar had to close temporarily, but bills were still coming in. Missing my clients, and wanting to help them be pampered, made the decision to sell my products a no brainer. The product response and sales allowed me to pivot. Being patient through the ups and downs helped me not only appreciate the hard times, but embrace that they were preparing me. I had no idea that years later that I would finally have the confidence and resources (because I needed both) to offer not just one but three products. Focusing on my goal created a revenue stream that I didn't know existed for me. I have been able to grow a business within my business.
