About Nuoceans

The Story of Nuoceans Nuoceans is a Belgian brand of sustainable footwear born from a simple idea: giving a second life to the waste that pollutes our oceans. It all began in 2018, when the three founders discovered the scale of pollution caused by flip‑flops abandoned on beaches and in coastal areas. Very difficult to recycle, they can nevertheless remain in the environment for decades. After several years of research and development, Nuoceans developed a midsole made from those recovered flip‑flops. Today, each pair helps to reclaim about 300 g of ocean waste. Our shoes are then manufactured in Spain, combining this recycled material with cork, vegan materials and, increasingly, bio‑based materials. Our ambition: to prove that sustainable alternatives are possible. We make comfortable, durable sandals while transforming an existing waste into a genuine resource.Read their story
