Vanessa Henderson is a mixed media painter whose energetic work explores colorful landscapes shaped by imagination, nature, and the unknown. Her paintings depict pioneering female figures moving through vast, otherworldly environments, reflecting a deep curiosity about what it means to navigate uncertainty with both courage and openness. She holds a bachelor’s degree in graphic design from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and spent 15 years in a design career before transitioning to her studio practice full-time. She was deeply influenced by a decade living in Seattle, where her connection to landscape and storytelling developed. After the pandemic, Vanessa and her family returned to Cleveland, Ohio, where she currently works from her home studio. Read their story
