About Fairchild Farm and Mercantile

So, a little bit about Fairchild Farm & Mercantile; it's been a family labor of love, so even though this was my dream career, I can’t claim it to be just mine. There’s eight of us here on the farm and everyone helps from milking to shearing to packaging to helping ship, stack, computer work, trade shows and so much more. We all milk the goats for our soap before school and right before dinner for 1/2 a year. Ron my husband helps in any way he can. Under our first business name, Fairchild Lamb & Wool, we started out selling wool from our Southdown sheep as well as needle felted animals that I made. It was fun. But then, it evolved. Soon, as I was chasing after a bunch kids, helping farm, raising a big garden, and working in Ron’s cabinet shop, then I was selling roving with my needle felting. Now I make these great wool dryer balls and kits. And the soap...it was a 4H project that blew up into an amazing part of our business. We use plants off of our farm, wool, goat’s milk, sell lamb and goat meat, and one of these summers, even plan to turn some of our land into a glamp ground.
