Brundo Spice Co is an Ethiopian Women-Owned Company that specializes in traditional Ethiopian spices and prioritizes sustainable and equitable business practices, from our farm to your kitchen. Fetlework Tefferi, the founder of Brundo Spice Company opened an Ethiopian restaurant in Oakland in the early 90's called Cafe Colucci. After many local awards and multiple years on the Michelin recommended list, she decided to start Brundo Spice Company to have a source of high quality spices and herbs from Ethiopia. From Modjo, Ethiopia, to North Oakland, to you - we are committed to bringing the highest quality goods from Ethiopia and to showing the world the beauty of East African cuisine through heirloom spices and herbs. All of our products are imported directly from our processing facility in Modjo, Ethiopia. We pride ourselves on being a company founded by women and powered by women. 85% of our 47-person team at our processing plant in Modjo are women, who work to grow, harvest, process, and perfect all our wonderful products.Read their story
